A cuffed rib beanie in 100% undyed 26-micron Corriedale wool from a family farm in the Waihopai Valley, Marlborough. The family has farmed this valley for generations, and their Corriedale sheep are bred to thrive on the 2,800 hectares of hill country they graze. Every step from sheep to knit happens in New Zealand.

Corriedale is a New Zealand breed, developed in North Otago from 1868 by crossing Merino with longwool sheep. Its wool is bright, dense and soft to handle. No dye is used, so the cream is the natural colour of the fleece. The fold-up cuff doubles the fabric over the ears, and the rib stretches to fit most heads.

Make it a set with the Undyed Wool Scarf and Undyed Wool Mittens.

Hand wash in cold water. Never rub, twist, or wring — gentle squeezing only. Lay flat to dry in shade, away from direct heat. Store folded in a cool, dry place.

New possum merino may shed lightly during the first few wears. This is completely normal and stops quickly. A gentle hand wash helps release any loose surface fibres.
