A plain flat cap, the cheesecutter as it's known here, with a genuine lambskin leather peak. The crown lies flat and sits low over the forehead, and the short leather peak gives it a clean front. It is knitted in New Zealand from 55% merino wool, 35% possum fur and 10% mulberry silk.

Wear it with a wool jacket and a roll neck, or with a quarter-zip and jeans. A plain crown suits patterned knitwear better than the check version does.

Hand wash carefully in cold water, but avoid soaking the leather trim. Keep leather sections out of the water and gently wipe them clean with a damp cloth instead. Lay flat to dry in shade, away from direct heat. For a deeper clean, professional dry cleaning is recommended.
