A ribbed scarf knitted from 26-micron Corriedale wool, grown on a 2,800-hectare family farm in Marlborough's Waihopai Valley. The wool is spun and knitted in New Zealand and left undyed, in the natural cream of the fleece.

Corriedale was bred in New Zealand from Merino and longwool sheep, which gives the wool its bulk and soft handle. It suits drier country, and Marlborough is one of its strongholds. At 160cm x 21cm (63" x 8"), the scarf wraps once with the ends left hanging, or loops close at the neck under a coat. Worn with the matching beanie over a grey jumper, the cream stands out cleanly.

Make it a set with the Undyed Wool Beanie and Undyed Wool Mittens.

Exact measurements of this garment, laid flat. Allow ±2cm as each piece is knitted.

Hand wash in cold water. Never rub, twist, or wring — gentle squeezing only. Lay flat to dry in shade, away from direct heat. Store folded in a cool, dry place.

New possum merino may shed lightly during the first few wears. This is completely normal and stops quickly. A gentle hand wash helps release any loose surface fibres.
