Sheep Possum Merino Vest

A women's V-neck vest with a flock of sheep knitted across the front, shaded in a second tone against the body colour. Small patches of textured stitch sit between them, and fine rib finishes the neckline, armholes and hem. It is McDonald's nod to the New Zealand high country, kept light enough to wear every day.

Knitted in New Zealand from 55% merino wool, 35% possum fur and 10% mulberry silk, it keeps warmth through the body and leaves the arms free, so it layers without adding bulk at the sleeves.

Wear it over a cable crew with straight-leg jeans, where the cabled sleeves add texture beside the flat pattern of the sheep. It sits as easily over a collared shirt with the collar laid in the V, or under an open cardigan on a colder day.

For a lighter vest with lace patterning, see the Herringbone Lace Possum Merino Vest. The Two Tone Possum Merino Beanie finishes the look.

Hand wash in cold water. Never rub, twist, or wring — gentle squeezing only. Lay flat to dry in shade, away from direct heat. Store folded in a cool, dry place.

New possum merino may shed lightly during the first few wears. This is completely normal and stops quickly. A gentle hand wash helps release any loose surface fibres.
